Terms of service

These terms are between you and Cronk Companies, LLC (“we”), the maker of AngryLips at https://www.angrylips.com. By using the site you agree to them. They're written to be read.
The game
AngryLips is a fill-in-the-blank word game. The library, party rooms, sharing and read-aloud are free. We can change or retire features; if we ever shut the whole thing down, active Pro subscribers get a prorated refund.
Your words
You own the words you type. When you share a story or play in a party room, you give us permission to store and display them to people who have the link, and to render them into share images. Don't type slurs, hate, sexual content involving minors, threats, or private information about real people. We block some of this automatically and remove the rest when reported. Repeat offenders lose access.
Story templates, the AngryLips name, the lips, and the site's design are ours. Playing and sharing finished stories is what they're for; scraping the library or reselling it is not.
AI stories and narration
Custom stories and narrations are generated by AI on request. They can be wrong, weird, or unfunny. You're responsible for the prompts you write and for how you use what comes out. We may refuse prompts and we rate-limit heavy use to keep the service running for everyone.
Publishing to the community shelf
Pro members can publish a custom story so anyone can play it. When you publish, you give us permission to show that story, index it in search engines, include it in other people's party rounds, and keep it up after your subscription ends. You keep the right to use it yourself. Real names you gave the AI are replaced before it goes up — the first becomes a blank the next player fills in, the rest become stand-ins — and if we can't take a name out cleanly, we won't publish it.
Don't publish anything about a real person who'd object, anything sexual, hateful, or aimed at harassing someone. Every story is read by an automated screen first; anything sharper than a family game waits for a human. Two reader reports take a story off the shelf until someone looks at it, and we can remove anything at any time. You can ask us to unpublish yours by getting in touch.
Accounts
Accounts use a one-time email code. Keep control of your email address; anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You must be 13 or older to create an account. We can suspend accounts that break these terms.
Pro
Pro costs $4.99 per month or $24.99 per year, billed by Stripe, renewing automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account; you keep Pro through the end of the period you paid for. If Pro isn't for you, email us within 7 days of a charge for a full refund. Prices can change with 30 days' notice by email. Daily usage caps exist to keep costs sane and are stated on the Pro page.
No warranty, limited liability
AngryLips is provided as-is. We don't promise it will be available, error-free, or funny. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything related to the service is the amount you paid us in the past 12 months. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that can't be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA. Disputes go to courts there.
